In The Beginning

In the first year after Tom passed, I found that I couldn't read. I couldn't focus on a novel like I had before. I have always been a fiction reader. But after Tom died, all I read were books about grief, spirituality, and a few articles in the newspaper and doing the mini crossword puzzle in the New York Times. I binged on Netflix and Amazon and Hulu too. I had a hard time sleeping, so often my TV would be on all night...

This is normal. This is survival.
